Terry Trueman will visit NNCS on May 5. He will speak to the English 10 Honors class, who are currently reading his book, Stuck in Neutral. This story is a fiction book, but contains biographical information, as Trueman's son has cerebral palsy and cannot interact with others, much as the main character Shawn McDaniel. Trueman talks about how he dealt with this devastating realization that his son would never get better, never be able to communicate with anyone and has recently written another book called Sheehan: Heartbreak and Redemption (Sheehan is his son's name). This book is a biographical and photographical sketch of Trueman's life with his son's illness. If you have read any of Terry Trueman's books, please let me know what you think. If you are a big fan, there may be a chance for you to attend his presentation on May 5.
